The JHU Recycling Program is committed to increasing recycling by making disposal of recyclable materials easy for students, faculty, and staff around campus and within all academic, office, and housing buildings. We have strategically placed bins for recycling and trash disposal next to each other along the walkways on campus. Recycling containers for bottles and cans are clearly designated with a white band and lid labeled recycling. Within campus buildings, bins for collecting mixed paper and bottles and cans can be found in hallways and common areas. Blue "Slim Jim" bins are designed for mixed paper collection and labeled "Paper Only."
Green "Slim Jim" bins are designed for collecting commingled bottles and cans labeled "Bottles and Cans."
Individual blue office containers are for paper only.
Please see the “Recycle Bin Locations” section for information about where recycling containers are located within housing buildings. Computers and associated materials, including toner cartridges and batteries, are also collected for recycling. These items should not be disposed of in the recycling bins. Simply comlete a service request or call 516-5594 to request a pick up.
